| Animal Welfare Starts with Compassionate People We're always thrilled to share stories of animal rescues, but every so often we like to give our members a sneak peek of the behind-the-scenes action that keeps BETA running. This month we have some news about our Board members, old and new. A big "congratulations" goes out to Mona Khoury, BETA co-founder and Executive Board Member. Mona was recently elected Vice Chairperson of the Middle East Network for Animal Welfare (MENAW) www.menaw.net, a networking forum for animal welfare groups in the Middle East that promotes the exchange of news and ideas. Although she works full-time for the United Nations, Mona has dedicated every free moment to improving the lives of animals since BETA began in 2004. We are confident Mona will have a big impact in her new role and wish her luck! We are proud to welcome the following BETA Honorary Members and Board Advisor to our team:
His Excellency Mr. Denis Pietton French Ambassador to Lebanon, Denis is an animal lover who supports our work and is dedicated to helping BETA reach its maximum potential as an animal welfare and rescue organization. Névine Salvadé Névine is a Lebanese/Swiss national, animal devotee and author of C Om Passion: A Story About Humane Politics, Enlightenment and Shared Humanity. A longtime supporter of BETA, she adopted two handicapped dogs from us which now live with her at her home in Switzerland. Névine's love for life, under all its forms, sets an example to everyone to respect nature and appreciate all the little things that can make a positive difference in our daily lives. Dr. Elias Nicolas Elias has been a loyal friend to BETA since its formation. He has performed amazing feats in saving some of our very difficult rescue cases. His humane values and professional skills are a password to the hearts of animal lovers all over the country. Tania Burrows Since she was a very small child Tania has always loved and respected animals and our environment. She believes that all living beings deserve to be treated humanely and ethically. She dedicates an extraordinary amount of her precious time in preventing and stopping the suffering of animals. Tania's dedication and sustained efforts to help animals have made her an outstanding member of our community. Fabienne Blineau-Abiramia Fabienne is BETA's newly appointed Board Advisor and a compassionate and dedicated addition to BETA's team. She's a French national married to a Lebanese man. She adopted her beloved dog from our shelter 3 years ago and has been active with our organization ever since. Fabienne's contagious enthusiasm continues to be a great inspiration to all BETA members. Each new member of BETA brings their own unique background, a different set of skills and a new perspective to our group. We're excited to continue evolving with their and your invaluable help!
Sincerely,
